At Backwards Bread Co. we are at the bakery 7 days a week to ensure we can provide our community with quality baked goods. In order for all of the baking steps along the way to succeed we rely on our TEAM! The best part is that we LOVE what we do! We are very fortunate to have a wonderful hard working team who has a lot of fun baking together.
We also have several volunteers that work with us every week. We are forever grateful for their help and excitement to be involved in what we do!
Hello! I appreciate you taking the time to get to know us all a little better here at the bakery. My name is Travis and I grew up in Fergus Falls, MN. I’ve been working in the customer service industry for over 22 years. I’m driven by family, community, discipline, and hard work. Hobbies of mine are always learning something new, physical fitness, car tuning, and living an examined life. My favorite product is the Whole Wheat Sourdough Dana Bread.
Hello! Thank you for your interest in Backwards Bread Co. My partner, Travis and I, started Backwards Bread Co. in 2016 together. I am often found behind the scenes running the day-to-day business operations or you may see me on the frontline working in our retail store serving our wonderful community. My joy comes from serving our customers, both retail and wholesale customers alike. When I am not working at the bakery, I am home raising our three amazing children. They keep us busy and are always teaching us something. I am a big fan of nature, hiking, the north shore, cooking, gardening, yoga, volleyball, relaxing with a cup of warm tea, & occasionally binge watching a show on Netflix. My favorite product is the Organic Cheddar Garlic Sourdough.
Luke is quite the fellow at Backwards Bread, and we couldn’t imagine it without him. He’s been with us since August 2018. During the summer, Luke will sell bouquets of his beautiful flowers here at the bakery! Some of his favorite items here at the Bakery include the Roasted Garlic Sourdough and the Palmiers. At home, Luke, by his own words, is “a music maker, origami folder, flower grower, pencil drawer, insect spreader, Lego builder, and sci-fi reader.”
Nate is one of our bakers. He’s worked at Backwards Bread since August 2020, and we don’t know where we’d be without him. His favorite items at the bakery include the Craisin Wild Rice loaf and our Cardamom Buns. Outside of the bakery, Nate heartily enjoys snowboarding & collecting vinyl.
Jesse is one of our very talented bakers. Of all the creations he bakes, he enjoys the Organic Garlic Cheddar Sourdough and Cardamom Buns the best! When Jesse isn’t baking away, he enjoys hikes with his dog Jasmine, gardening, and riding his motorcycle.
Jeff, or better known around the bakery as “Jerf”, is one of our original crew members. He estimates that his time with Backwards Bread Co. started in January 2018 and is one of our day crew bakers. Jeff’s favorites at the bakery are the Jalapeño Cheddar Batard and a Sugar Bun. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys fishing, hiking, bonfires, playing video games, fantasy football and watching movies.
Erin started at Backwards Bread in January 2020 and plays the lead role in business marketing, events, and day-to-day bakery operations. Her favorite breads include the Jalapeno Cheddar Batard and Cheddar Garlic Sourdough. Erin’s favorite pastries are the Lemon Danish, Seasonal Rhubarb Croissant & Sugar Bun.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters & their dog Rigby. You can find her traveling, camping, spending time outdoors, finding new local places to eat, attending sporting events, painting & spending time with friends & family.
If you’ve ever come into the retail store, you’ve met Chris. He’s been our awesome lead retail guy since November 2020. He also manages a couple farmer’s markets that we sell our products at! His top favorite item that we sell is our Jalapeño Cheddar Batard. At home, Chris enjoys playing video games, fantasy sports, music, and spending time with his kids.
Arin is one of our bakers and they’ve been with us since June 2020. Arin is very passionate about their favorite products, and just a few of those favorites are the Roasted Garlic Sourdough, the Craisin Wild Rice Loaf, Sugar Buns, and Blueberry Danish. Other than working at the bakery, Arin is also a guitar teacher. They also enjoy photography, painting, and hanging out with their cats.
Addie has been with us since September 2020. She is our finance wizard and business manager. Some of her favorite products include our Craisin Wild Rice Loaf (for grilled cheese) and our Sugar Cookies!
Outside of the bakery, Addie makes maple syrup (available at the bakery) with her family, but she also enjoys jigsaw puzzles, skiing, ice skating, and watching movies with her cats.
Jackson is a friendly face you will often see in our retail store and has been a wonderful addition to our team! Jackson’s favorite bread is our Organic Cinnamon Walnut Date Sourdough but has a special sweet tooth for our Palmier pastry. When he’s not working at the bakery, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and chihuahuas, reading, and disc golfing (when the weather is nice).
